Puteoli
PAUL'S JOURNEY TO ROME
Pozzouli, Central Italy
"From there we set sail and arrived at Rhegium. The next day the south wind came up, and on the following day we reached Puteoli.
There we found some brothers and sisters who invited us to spend a week with them. And so we came to Rome.
The brothers and sisters there had heard that we were coming, and they traveled as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns to meet us. At the sight of these people Paul thanked God and was encouraged."

THE PORT WHERE ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME
Paul's journey to Puteoli (modern-day Pozzuoli) represents a significant moment in early Christian history, as this ancient port city served as his first foothold on Italian soil. Located in the Bay of Naples, Puteoli was one of the most important commercial ports in the Roman Empire during the 1st century AD.
According to Acts 28:13-14, Paul arrived in Puteoli after sailing from Rhegium: "From there we set sail and arrived at Puteoli. There we found some brothers and sisters who invited us to spend a week with them." This seemingly simple account actually reveals several important aspects of both the city and Paul's experience.
